One of our favorite things about San Diego is the rich history and architecture found in the many missions that have been around for centuries. But if you’re going to get married in one, why not do so at the first mission ever built in California? That’s exactly where Jennifer and Chris decided to tie the knot, at the Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala (founded in 1769). It was such a treat to walk on the ancient stone-laid floors and witness something as timeless as a wedding at place where so many had done before. Everything from the hand-painted walls and church bells to the sculptural fountain and garden were stunning (especially our gorgeous bride!), which made this wedding such a beautiful affair. Their guests celebrated outdoors at the Bali Hai with the San Diego skyline glistening on the water behind them. It was a touching and festive night, and let’s just say Mexican-Italians sure know how to party!
