Santa Clara Wedding Photos // Eunice + Mike – San Diego Wedding Photographer | Los Angeles Wedding Photography

It can be a daunting task to design your own wedding, especially when there are a million ideas to choose from. But for Eunice and Mike, their inspiration came from the very thing that started their whole wedding in the first place—her pretty blue sapphire engagement ring. And though it’s unusual to see royal blue in the springtime, those pops of rich blue throughout the wedding was a sweet little reminder of the token of love that would lead them to “I do”.

It was a gorgeous day in San Jose, and the beautiful campus at Santa Clara University was the perfect place for the excited couple to meet and spend the first few hours of their wedding day together. From the quaint violet-covered walkways to the palm-tree lined entrance and the historical mission, we saw just how happy Eunice and Mike made each other knowing that they were just that lucky to marry their soulmate…Chucks and all!

Though most of us are familiar with the traditional American ceremony, it’s always a treat to see cultural ceremonies incorporated into the wedding day as well! After their ceremony out on the patio, Eunice and Mike both dressed up in traditional Korean wedding hanboks to embrace the customs of their families. During the Paebaek ceremony, the parents of the groom were invited to toss dates and chestnuts into the white apron that signifies how many sons and daughters they will have…which of course, they never miss! While we all laughed about the twenty children they were expected to bear, Mike was “handed over” to his male peers, who tackled him to the ground and beat his feet with spoons until the bride “bought” him back with a peace offering. While it was rather confusing what it all meant, it was certainly entertaining and absolutely hilarious to watch!

The evening continued with many kind (and funny) words, pleasant surprises on the dance floor, and more than enough moments they’ll never want to forget. We’re truly happy for this fun-loving couple! Congratulations!
