Chicago Cultural Center Wedding Photos // Allison + John – San Diego Wedding Photographer | Los Angeles Wedding Photography
I have always known Allison as a fashionista. Ever since meeting her at a marketing agency years ago, she has always been fearless about standing out, being different, and redefining fabulous in her own way. So when we showed up at her wedding to find a not-so-traditional (but utterly stunning) wedding gown, it was no surprise at all. She will probably also be the only bride we’ll ever meet who can rock a skull-head bracelet on her wedding day. And John (whom we call Woz) even had his own pair of matching skull-head cuff links. Seriously, coolest…couple…ever.
Alli and Woz met through pure destiny pursuing what they both love most—music. Their paths crossed a few years ago at Lollapalooza, and they’ve been chasing bands together all over Chicago ever since. This day was a long time coming, and needless to say, they put their heart and soul into planning their dream wedding as soulmates (with an impeccable taste for fashion!). It was truly an emotional day for everyone, and I can honestly say, I have never seen her happier.

We adore First Looks. This one in particular was so endearing as we watched the usually outgoing, spunky Allison completely melt to pieces when she saw Woz. There is such a timeless beauty about these two and their love for one another. No matter how hard it rained outside, nothing could wipe the smiles off their faces!
It doesn’t take much to make a place like the Chicago Cultural Center look amazing with its incredible architecture and historical details. But with Allison’s vision of a lush, English garden, they used ferns, trees, and hundreds of candles to transformed the space into a dreamy gathering place where they would finally tie the knot. Our bride walked down the aisle like she was strutting down a catwalk, and managed to hold it together until Woz poured his heart out in front of all their family and friends. With teary eyes and beaming smiles, the newlyweds were ready to celebrate the night away!
Their celebrations continued under the Tiffany Dome, where a gorgeous display of autumn blooms and a spectacular wedding cake awaited them. Instead of a formal sit-down dinner, the bride and groom planned an elegant cocktail party with plenty of food stations and opportunities to mingle with their guests. It was definitely a different set up than we were used to, but we loved the casual vibe and easy flow of the whole evening! They even stepped outside in the middle of dancing to enjoy a few celebratory cigars and a trip to the iconic Cloud Gate where they had taken their first picture together. They’ve come full circle, and now look forward to the start of a new beginning together in this city they call home. Congratulations!
